Joanne's Place

Joanne’s Place is a home for those who need the extra assistance throughout the day located in Waterloo, Iowa. The space will encourage movement and stimulation of the residents. The design of the space is divided strategically, with main block housing public areas and the corridors primarily housing the residents rooms, giving them more privacy and escape from noise and other residents. The home will encourage movement throughout the space with a closed loop pathway, considering all weather types that occur in Iowa. By using a delicate connection of light and color throughout public and private spaces, the space executes a comfortable dynamic and sense of home.
